Welcome to Frederick Hugh House, a very special school where every child is special.

I would like to extend a warm welcome to prospective parents and carers. This is an exciting and unique venture; a school built around celebrating the individual strengths of each pupil. Frederick Hugh House is an independent, special school in the Royal Borough of Chelsea, imbued with a combination of inspiration, aspiration and innovation.

We opened our doors in 2010 providing an all through, specialist education for children from the age of 11-16, catering for children that require individual, integrated educational and therapeutic programmes within a small class and a small school setting. Frederick Hugh House provides a personalised education with a rich, broad and balanced curriculum combined with in-house therapy services.

We aim to ensure that each child’s first crucial steps at Frederick Hugh House are compelling and exciting, so as to draw them into a world of lifelong learning. We believe we have a duty to unlock the strengths in every child so they can achieve their best in all aspects of their lives with us. At Frederick Hugh House, we are motivated to enable every child to fulfil their potential – emotionally, spiritually, academically, creatively, physically and socially – through a stimulating environment where teaching and learning go hand in hand with pastoral care.

I look forward to meeting you in the near future.

Alan Simons, Acting Headteacher
